Guided Artist Inspiration Tour

Western Australia is about to welcome an ambitious cultural project — the creation of Perth Sky Sculpture Park at the historic Perth Observatory in the Bickley Valley. To mark this exciting development, the Perth Sky team hosted a special Artist Inspiration Tour – welcoming 120 artists and partners for a guided walk of the site on Saturday November 15th 2025.

This event will also unveiled full details of the Sculpture Park and its flagship Exhibition, including the announcement of Acquisitive Awards supported by the City of Kalamunda. The awards will see winning works acquired as permanent public art, creating significant opportunities for artists to showcase their practice to both local and national audiences.

Artists attending had the chance to:

  • Hear the vision behind Perth Sky Sculpture Park.
  • Gain insights into award categories, selection processes, and opportunities for participation.
  • Engage in a Q&A session with the Directors and Curatorial team.
  • Take part in a Guided Artist Tour through the Perth Observatory grounds and surrounding forest — exploring the unique locations available for sculptures to draw creative inspiration from this extraordinary site where art, nature and science converge.

Perth Sky Sculpture Park is set to become a transformational cultural tourism destination for Western Australia — a place where artists can contribute to a nationally significant platform while engaging with audiences in a spectacular bushland and astronomical setting.

This launch event was not just an introduction — it’s an invitation for artists to imagine their work among the stars, trees, and pathways of this remarkable site.
