JOHANNES PANNEKOEK EAST COAST TOUR

Exhibiting at NSW sculpture festivals, supported by Department of Creative Industries

We are delighted to share that WA sculptor, and Perth Sky Sculpture Park’s Chair and Head Curator, Johannes Pannekoek, has been awarded funding by the Department Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, Western Australia, to further his artistic research and practice.

This September, Johannes will exhibit works from his Symphony in C bronze series at two leading New South Wales sculpture exhibitions—Sculpture on the Farm (Dungog) and Sculpture in the Valley (Kangaroo Valley). Alongside exhibiting, he will lead talks, judge works, and connect with fellow artists and curators.

His travel to NSW also includes a research visit to the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, Australia’s newest large-scale public sculpture initiative.

Johannes’ large-scale works regularly feature in leading sculpture exhibitions and are held in  collections nationally. He has won the Major Sculpture Award at Sculpture by the Sea at both the Bondi (2016) and Cottesloe (2024) exhibitions.

We congratulate Johannes on this achievement and thank the State Government of Western Australia and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for supporting WA artists and investing in the growth of our sculpture sector.
